Dr. Gregorio Triviño Limjoco and his wife Doña Felicida Arguelles Limjoco ( daughter of former Gov. of Batangas Vicente Arguelles) built the Batangas Ice Plant. He was a philanthropist and sited as an exemplary employer.

He served under Gen. Malvar. He studied medicine at UST and was classmates with a fellow named Manuel L. Quezon with whom he became lifelong friends .

Manuel Quezon went on to become the President of the Philippines and was baptismal God father to Dr. Limjoco’s daughter Aurora Limjoco.

Eldest son of Dr. Gregorio Limjoco Sr., of the same name was also a Physician and Radiologist. He and his brothers Jose and Ramon were all WW II veterans and were together in Bataan. KA GORING as he was called by his peers and just about everyone was in the infamous "DEATH MARCH" with his brother Peping.

After the war, he transfered to the Philippine Army Air Corps on the behest of his brother Monching - who was a Pilot then. He retired from the Philippine Air Force as a Senior Flight Surgeon and later become one of the Surgeons of the Civil Aviation Administration (CAA) where he ultimately retired from.

Jose Limjoco. “Peping” was a UP gradute Mechanical Engineer who joined the Philippine Army Corps of Engineers before WW II.

He served in Bataan (with Goring and Monching) and was also with Goring in the Death March but managed to escape .

He served with the Philippines Reparations Commission as a Senior Assistant, later retired and immigrated to the US were he died in San Francisco.

Ramon “Monching” Limjoco was the Charter President of the Batangas Lions Club and the Batangas Chamber of Commerce. He was also among the first Filipino fighter pilots for PAF during WWII.

He and his American wife Helen have done many philanthropic works in the footsteps of the senior Dr. Limjoco. Helen Limjoco has a room at Villamor airbase named after her, as she and Monching donated all the electirc beds in that ward. Diana Limjoco, Dr. Limjocos’ grand daughter, and daughter of Monching and Helen, is making a difference in a town in the USA. She worked with Jacques Cousteau in the late 70’s for his first Involement day to raise people’s awareness of water pollution. Raised in Batangas.

All of the heirs of of Dr. Gregorio Limjoco, 4 generations down , shared the expense to have this permanent shrine made for the patron Saint of the Batangas Basilica, the Infant Jesus also known as Sto. Niño. The original statue was placed where ever there was room for it on special occassion so the family volunteered to have this shrine built. A replica of the statue was commissined by Aurora Limjoco Pastor, daughter of Dr.Limjoco Sr., as she loved the original and asked the artist to make one for her.

A week after commissioning the work and a replica made of the original statue which was approximately 150 years old, it burned to ashes when the rectory caught fire and was burned down. The replica now sits in the shrine with the ashes of the orignal statue in Batangas City Basilica. Thus divine providence works in mysterious ways.
